Do you and your family enjoy golf but want to switch things up a bit? Try Shanty Creeks FootGolf! This is a fun Dutch hybrid game using a soccer ball and 21” holes. If FootGolf isn’t the right fit, you can also check out 9 holes of Disc Golf! The Fitness Center has disc’s for you to use.
If you are researching the area, you might find that mountain biking has become popular. If you are looking for a introduction to the sport, Shanty Creek offers E-biking with a full rolling hill course.
Rainy day vibes: Some time the weather just doesn’t cooperate. This is the perfect time to visit Shanty Creek Resort and try out the golf simulator. The Full Swing simulator offers more than just golf. There is a variety of sports and even Zombie Dodgeball and Carnival Classic. Staying at the resort also means you get access to all of the resort pools!
Ski Season: Shanty Creek Resort offers some of the areas best skiing. If you and your group enjoy getting out for a few runs or maybe looking to take a few ski lessons; this is a great ski hill for any ability level.

Grass River Natural Area stretches across 1,502 acres of nature preserve. Open year round with 7 miles of well maintained trails. You can also take a look at the visitors center with all sorts of preserved wildlife and educational fun and special programs. Their website shows all the different trail systems for all your fun including hiking, biking, kayaking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. Special trail maps for ADA accessibility and pet friendly. New this year is their natural playground!
Glacial Hills is centered in the great outdoors. This is the ultimate hike, mountain bike, run, and snowshoe destination. Beautiful 31.5 of premier Midwest trails to explore.
Torch Lake boat rentals are a top activity choice in the summer. We recommend Dockside Boat Rentals in Bellaire - but book early because rentals will fill up!

Good Eats:
Fireside Lounge: This is a local favorite and has so much charm! Enjoy a little patio that back’s up to the river or the cocktail lounge. Usually there is live music and a game of bocce ball going on. Dining and drinks are offered year round!
The Corner Bistro: This spot really makes a mark on all of the classic dishes. A great atmosphere that perks up a casual night out. They will even offer the patio for dog friendly dining for well behaved pups!
Toonies Fish and Steak House: You bet we are gonna share a fish and steak house! On a good night you can even join in some late night karaoke. If that doesn’t scream vacation, I don’t know what does.
The Nest Sports Bar and Grill: At the Chief Golf Course. In true sports bar fashion, The Nest has a dinner theme for each night of the week. If you are real sports fan, you won’t miss the game because it will surely be playing on one of their 26 TV’s!

Mammoth Distillery: Craft cocktail bar with alcohol distilled locally. Sit down and enjoy a drink or stop by to grab a bottle, they make fantastic souvenir! Drink to try: Gin and Bounce.
Torch Lake Cellars: Less than 10 minute drive to one of the area’s favorite past times. Check out the panoramic views of the vineyard while you have a tasting or glass of wine to enjoy.
Bee Well Mead and Cider: This taproom is always buzzing with a good time. The taps rotate a variety of ciders and meads for many folks to enjoy. This family business supports local honey and fruit farmers for a high quality experience.
Shorts Brewing Pub and Beer Garden: Sometime you really wanna sip and savor some new released Shorts beer and other times you are gathered with friends after a long trail ride at Glacial Hills and just need an ice cold beer. Be sure to try our personal favorite, the buffalo dip! No matter the occasion, Shorts is sure to match your energy. And if you happen to find a summer evening a little too quiet, the Beer Garden often puts on a live music which is some wonderful fresh air entertainment.
